Lamorna Cove Beach

West Cornwall.
Description:
At Lamorna Cove there is a small rocky beach with a quay and some sand at low tide. For walkers, there are spectacular views on the coast path to the west but the coast path is rocky.

The car park is right by the beach at Lamorna Cove and there is a slipway to the beach.
Dogs:
There are no signs prohibiting dogs on the beach.
Directions:
Lamorna Cove is 6 miles from Penzance which is 27 miles from Truro and 14 miles from Helston. Take the A30 to Penzance and follow the A30 around the outskirts of Penzance. Shortly after Penzance turn left onto the B3315 and follow this road into Newlyn, then at a crossroads turn right to continue on the B3315. Continue on this road for approximately 3 miles until until a left turning for Lamorna Cove (signposted to Lamorna Cove). Drive through Lamorna village to reach Lamorna Cove.

Parking:
2 small car parks at Lamorna Cove, 1 by the beach and 1 above the quay. The car park is controlled by ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras. The payment machines are CASH ONLY. Parking signage in the cove clearly states that there is a 10-minute period in which to decide whether or not to park. If you stay longer than 10 minutes then parking charges apply. Ticket display is not necessary, as the ANPR cameras record all vehicle comings and goings.
Toilets:
The toilets were closed in 2012. The seasonal café has a single toilet, but it is only available to café customers.
