Description:
Porthbean Beach is a sandy and shingle beach with rocks at low tide. The beach is only accessible on the coast path and is usually fairly quiet. Over rocks beyond the main beach are two smaller sand and shingle beaches.

Porthbean Beach is accessible on the coast path and the nearest parking is at Portscatho or road parking at Rosevine above Porthcurnick Beach. From Porthcurnick Beach it takes about 20 minutes to walk to Porthbean Beach. At Porthbean beach there are steep steps to the beach.

Dogs allowed all year at Porthbean Beach.
Directions:
Porthbean Beach can be reached from Portscatho or Porthcurnick Beach on the coast path. Porthcurnick Beach is about 13 miles from Truro and 16 miles from St Austell. Aproaching from the east or west on the A390 about 4 miles east of Truro turn onto the A3078 for St Mawes. Continue on the A3078 until the village of Trewithian. At Trewithian turn left for Portscatho. Take the next left and there is a small car park just before Portscatho. Alternatively at Trewithian, turn left to Rosevine for limited road parking above Porthcurnick Beach. Then walk the coast path north.
