Poldhu Cove Beach

Description:
Poldhu Cove is a large sandy cove which is popular with families and surfers. Facilities and parking are close to the beach.
Safety:
Signs warn of strong undercurrents, deep shelving beach, submerged objects, large breaking waves and unstable cliffs. Also do not use inflatables and do not kite surf. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access:
From the car park there are two level paths through the dunes to the beach.
Dogs:
Dogs are banned on Poldhu Cove Beach from 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm).
Directions:
Poldhu Cove is approximately 7 miles from Helston. Approach Helston on the A394 from the east or west. Alternatively drive to Redruth on the A30 and at Redruth take the B3297 to Helston. At Helston follow the A3083 to Lizard. About 3 miles after Helston turn right onto a minor road to the village of Cury and drive through Cury and follow the road to Poldhu Cove. Alternatively 5 miles after Helston turn right onto the B3296 for Mullion and drive through Mullion to Poldhu Cove.
