Church Cove Beach

Description:
Church Cove is a beautiful sandy cove on the Lizard peninsula. There is easy access to the beach and the beach can be surfed.
Safety:
Signs warn of strong undercurrents, deep shelving beach, submerged objects, deep shelving beach at high tide and unstable cliffs. Also do not use inflatables. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access:
There is a short level walk (partly on sand) from the car park to Church Cove Beach.
Dogs:
Dogs are banned at Church Cove from 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm).
Directions:
Church Cove is approximately 5 miles from Helston. Approach Helston on the A394 from the east or west. Alternatively drive to Redruth on the A30 and at Redruth take the B3297 to Helston. At Helston follow the A3083 to Lizard. About 2 miles after Helston turn right to Gunwalloe (signposted to Gunwalloe and Church Cove). Continue on this road through the villages of Berepper and Gunwalloe and continue on this road to the Church Cove car park. Alternatively drive to Poldhu Cove via Mullion. At Poldhu Cove either walk the coast path north to Church Cove or drive to a small car park on the cliffs above Church Cove.
