Boobys Bay Beach

Location: 
North Cornwall.
Description: 
Boobys Bay Beach is a wide sandy beach with many rock pools and popular with surfers. Park at Treyarnon Bay or Constantine Bay and walk the coast path to Boobys Bay. There is limited parking at Constantine Bay, so parking at Treyarnon Bay may be a better option. There is excellent walking from Boobys Bay to Dinas Head and Trevose Head.
Safety: 
Signs warn of strong under currents, large breaking waves, not to swim at high tide and not to swim on right side (north) part of the beach. Also signs warn of submerged objects in the sand. Beach access is by climbing down over rocks and these can be slippery when wet. Risk of getting cut off at high tide. Lifeguards in summer at Boobys Bay Beach. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access: 
Access to Boobys Bay Beach is via the coast path from Constantine Bay. Final access to the beach is by climbing down over rocks from the coast path or walking from Constantine Bay across the sand to Boobys Bay Beach at low tide.
Dogs: 
Dogs allowed all year on Boobys Bay Beach.
Directions: 
Boobys Bay is approximately 11 miles from Newquay, but park at Constantine Bay or Treyarnon Bay. On the A30 near Indian Queens turn onto the A39 at the Highgate Hill roundabout. Proceed on the A39 north and continue on the A39 across the 1st roundabout. Continue on the A39 and at the 2nd roundabout (Trekenning roundabout) take the first left onto the A3059 (signposted for Newquay). After about 2 miles turn right, signposted to Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth. Continue on this road until a junction and here turn right onto the B3276 (signposted to Padstow and Mawgan Porth). Follow the B3276 through Mawgan Porth and then through Porthcothan. After Porthcothan follow the B3276 for several miles and turn left where signposted to Constantine Bay. Follow this road into Constantine Bay village. Follow the road round a bend and then take the next right (past the shop). Follow this road to the Constantine Bay car park. To park at Treyarnon Bay, there are two turnings after Porthcothan to Treyarnon Bay.
