pleasant sandy beach with a huge expanse of sand at low tide. There
are also extensive dunes
Directions:Crantock
is approximately 4 miles from Newquay. Proceed on the A30 from the
east or west. About 2 miles east of the Carland Cross roundabout
turn north onto the B3285, which is the road to Goonhavern. Continue
on this road to Goonhavern and turn right onto the A3075. About
3 miles later turn left onto the road for Crantock village. Drive
into the village and turn right and follow the road down to the
car parks. Alternatively drive past Crantock and park at West Pentire
Parking:2 car parks to the north of Crantock village. There are also
2 car parks at West Pentire and the beach can be reached via the coast
path

Safety:Swimming can be dangerous beside the river Gannel and the river
mouth. There is quick sand in the Gannel estuary
