Kennack Sands Beach

Description:
Kennack Sands is a wide sandy beach with an area of rocks and rock pools in the centre of the beach. Parking and facilities are close to the beach with easy access.
Safety:
Signs warn of strong undercurrents, submerged rocks/reef, unstable cliffs and not to use inflatables. Lifeguards in summer. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access:
There is a slipway to the west beach at Kennack Sands. This is suitable for wheelchair access. The east part of the beach can be accessed along the beach at low tide or from the coast path.
Dogs:
Dogs are banned on Kennack Sands west beach from 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm). Dogs allowed all year at Kennack Sands east beach. To reach the east part of the beach with a dog, use the coast path.
Directions:
Kennack Sands is approximately 11 miles from Helston. Approach Helston on the A394 from the east or west. At Helston take the A3083 signposted to Lizard. Shortly after Culdrose Airfield turn left onto the B3293 (signposted to St Keverne). After the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station take the first right (signposted to Kennack Sands) and continue on this road until Kuggar. At Kuggar turn left and follow the road down to Kennack Sands.
